Common Conditions Treated With Chiropractic

A chiropractor is trained to treat a wide variety of conditions by using a holistic approach to the biometrics and overall function of the human body. Here are four common conditions that our chiropractor treats:

  • Neck Pain: There are a variety of causes of neck pain. Those might include strains, sprains, degenerative disc disease or even one or more herniated discs. After obtaining a thorough history and physical examination, a diagnosis can be made. Given the proliferation and heavy use of cell phones, laptops and tablets, neck pain is increasingly complained of.
  • Lower Back Pain: This pain can result from the same injuries and conditions that cause neck pain. After a careful examination of the lumbar spine (lower back) area, the condition causing the patient's pain, suffering and loss of range of motion can be isolated. An individualized custom fitted treatment plan can then be formulated.
  • Headaches: The first thing that most headache sufferers experience tension headaches that are primarily caused by head and neck muscle tightness along with loss of range of motion in the cervical (neck) vertebrae. Many of our patients report nearly instant relief from tension headaches after chiropractic treatment.
  • Sciatica: The sciatic nerve is the largest and longest nerve in the human body. Sciatica is mostly caused by degenerative disc disease or actual disc herniation. Sciatic pain usually runs down one leg and sometimes all the way down to a foot. Sometimes, it might go down both legs.  Chiropractic treatment for sciatica can include lumbar spine manipulation, electronic muscle stimulation, intermittent heat and ice and ultrasound.
